Stars Were Gleaming

Fear not: for, behold I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
-Luke 2:10 & 11

Making Stuff: Little Boy's Christmas Tie

When I happened upon this little boy's tie tutorial, I knew I had to give it a try with the extra Christmas tablecloth fabric

I had the most fun picking out what fun contrast lining to use.

Making Stuff: Christmas Dress #2

The second Christmas dress made from my thrift store tablecloth finds was a little more involved, but I still cut the ruffles on the bias and saved a lot of time hemming.

Both dresses are long enough to be worn next year too.

Making Stuff: Christmas Dress #1

Wasn't sure what direction I was going with this year's Christmas dresses until I came across two old Christmas tablecloths and a green crocheted poncho at my favorite local thrift store last week (and all were 50% off). I pulled out an old crocheted top from my box of maternity clothes and I had what I needed.

Theme for this year: easy, casual and cheap
(mama had too many other projects on her plate).

I made it even easier on myself by cutting the ruffle on the bias and forgoing the hem all together.

And with the Sunday before Christmas temping out at 80 degrees, no jackets were required.

Santa Fear

A high five was as close as Baby Brother dared get to Santa this year (without tears).

Kids Help Kids: Origami Cranes

Princess has been making and selling origami cranes this December as part of her seven month plan to raise money to buy craft kits for "all the sick kids" at Loma Linda hospital.
Crane fund raising is already at $45 and she's already looking forward to January because her hands are getting tired.

As per a few requests, you can now donate to the "Kids Help Kids" fund through the Paypal
"Donate" button on the sidebar. This month, for a $1 donation, you will receive a virtual origami crane right to your inbox. :)
